background. FAMILY INFORMATION: Olivia no longer has any contact with her mother. For all she knows her mother is either dead or still in prison. None of the foster families she lived with have contact with her either. It is unknown who her father is. PERSONALITY: Olivia is the type of girl who will do anything for anybody, but nothing for herself. However, she is also a very shy person and is unable to really let people into her life. Because of her shyness it is hard for her to make and keep friends, however that doesn’t bother her. Her past often makes her feel like a burden to the people she knows and she has suffered several emotional breakdowns because of the monster that she thinks she is. BRIEF PERSONAL HISTORY: Everyone who knew her mother pitied Olivia before she was even born. It was simple for them to see that being born the daughter of a prostitute and having no idea who your father was would not be an easy thing. However, her druggie mother didn’t seem too concerned with her daughter’s healthy or happiness. She and Olivia lived in the basement of her pimp’s house and Olivia was constantly forced to clean up after her mom and pimp when they got wasted. When Olivia was three years old her mother sold her in what she thought was a ‘black market’ deal, however the man turned out to be an undercover police officer.
After her mother’s arrest Olivia was put into the foster system, while the court system searched for a new home for her. For years she was bounced around from foster home to foster home, most of the houseparent’s claiming she had issues far beyond their ability to deal with. The memories of her mother’s neglect and the knowledge that she was unlikely to ever be part of a real family fed Olivia’s self-hatred and feeling of being unwanted. Fortunately when she was ten she sent to live with Elbert Withering, who sought out the best psychiatric treatment that he could for Olivia. For six years she stayed with him and while she never felt completely wanted by the everyone there, it was the only place she would ever call home.
In school Olivia struggled not only with her grades, but with making friends as well. Elbert did his best to help her, but the doubt Olivia had about herself prevented her from ever doing well at anything. Even the rest of the kids in the house were strangers to her because of her introverted personality.
After turning 16 Olivia decided to leave the house, even though she was still in High School. However, after leaving she never graduated. Instead she cut off all contact she had with Elbert and the rest of the kids from the foster home. She found herself living on the street, or spending the occasional night in the bed of a stranger. She’s lived this way for three years, moving from town to town until she ended up in Chicago. She managed to save up enough money to buy herself a tiny apartment in one of the more dangerous areas of town.
